American Herdwick-bred Lamb & Late Lamb ~ Updated 2/21/18
Herdwick meat is the original "slow food". Herdwyck Lamb is exceptionally tender and mild with a flavor unique to the breed and its forage. Slow to mature, older lambs, in the U.K., up to as much as 4 years of age, are sold as "Late Lamb" due to the mild and tender nature of this breed. Beyond age four, for the most part meat from older ewes, is sold as Mutton. We harvest as much of the animal as legally possible by USDA inspection, including tongue, liver, kidney, all bones, hide and horns. An excellent yield of meat to the bone, these animals are ideal converters of forage to food and are a very sustainable breed. Our Abbatoire, Double L Ranch, is a Certified Humane and Animal Welfare Approved facility.
Our lambs, raised outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine, with plenty of room, are 100% forage fed.

Our lamb is exceptionally lean, tender and mild, with a unique flavor. Excellent meat-to-bone ratio provides a high yield for your purchase. Contact us to reserve your lamb. Wholesale price includes processing. Delivery is additional. Nutrient-dense, per a study in England, Herdwick lamb is better for you! Herdwick is higher in Omega-3s and CLAs than other pastured lamb.

Retail price is for lamb and slaughter only, paid to us, the Farmers.
Cutting, paper wrapping or Vacuum Wrap etc., any smoking or sausage, etc are paid to the butcher. Special requests and delivery are additional. Custom cut to your specifications, you speak directly to the butcher.

Lamb from the grocery.... either raised or at least "finished" in feedlots. In such close proximity, with wet areas, their health and comfort is greatly at risk, so antibiotics are often a standard routine. Here, these animals will be experiencing added stress due to over-crowding and lack of shade. If the food you eat experiences stress while growing, what might it do to you when you eat it?
